ABOUT AQUATIC BOOT CAMP

My name is Justin Bradshaw and I am a former U.S. Army Deep Sea Diver.  I grew up and graduated from high school in San Antonio, Texas.  Upon graduation, I decided to join the Army because my Dad and other members of my family had been in the military and I thought I would receive some great training; and holy cow, did I receive training.  Although I'd never been diving before, once I realized that the Army had divers, I knew that diving was the job for me.  Dive school was incredibly challenging and very tough.  Having survived the rigorous training (only around 35-45% of the student divers make it through dive school), I then experienced a variety of underwater construction jobs and other unique diving missions; in some instances, life-threatening experiences while working as an Army diver.  I was honorably discharged from the military and decided I wanted to attend college. After attending the University of Oklahoma, I moved down to Texas.

I came up with the idea for my aquatic boot camp while working out one day in the pool and decided that an aquatic workout would be a great way for people to get in shape.  My aquatic boot camp class is modeled after some of the very training that the military uses to prepare future deep sea diving candidates.  As a diver, I performed jobs such as underwater welding, underwater construction, search and rescue, pipeline diving, salvage, underwater demolitions, mine/countermine operations, etc.  To perform this type of strenuous work, divers had to be in extremely great shape not only for the physical reasons, but also for the physiological effects diving can have on the body.

The boot camp program will consist of pool sprints, treading water with and without weights, land exercises on the side of the pool, fins-on swimming, and a variety of other 'diver' type exercises.  This type of physical conditioning will be different from any other type of physical training /exercise that the student will have ever experienced and the course will push each individual to achieve maximum results.  Participants should be somewhat comfortable in the water and be able to swim 50 yards (one lap) without stopping.  You can expect to burn anywhere from 500-1200 calories depending upon how hard you push yourself and how much you weigh.

This course also includes outside physical training.  You can expect some short distance running, sprints, various calisthenics, and other "fun" activities.  The participants WILL know what extreme physical conditioning is all about.  We welcome all fitness levels but with that said if you have been sedentary for months or years this program is not for you.  This is not water aerobics!  The only thing required to succeed in this course is mental toughness and the will to try.

I require all of my participants to show up with a motivated attitude and the will to achieve top physical shape.  HOOYAAAH!!  If you have any questions, please contact us

"Justin is a great motivator. He makes you forget about quitting, and the multiple activities makes the time fly by. He hits every muscle, even ones you didn't know you had. Plus you can't beat the after -working your butt off- feeling ".
